Adventist Connect seeks a student employee with previous IT background or a current Computer Science major to work as a Junior Systems Administrator in our IT department.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure the stability and security of our network infrastructure.
  • Configure and manage both Linux and Windows servers.
  • Email management
  • Maintaining our sophisticated software-driven phone system
  • Maintaining workstation computers, monitors, phones, speakers, and peripherals
  • Build and deploy workstations
  • Inventory control management
  • Router and switch configuration
  • Database setup or maintenance
  • Website development and maintenance
  • Documenting software, procedure or policy development
  • Work primarily with Windows and MacOS environments
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled as a Computer Science major or possess previous IT experience.
  • Year-round position adaptable to student schedules. Preference given to candidates willing to commit beyond one academic year.
  • Ability to work closely with team members across different levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter with the ability to think independently and solve problems proactively.
  • Exhibits a genuine passion for providing excellent customer service and supporting end-users.
  • Possesses strong emotional intelligence to effectively manage and respond to various workplace dynamics.

Special Requirements:

Minimum of 15 hours per week during the academic year, with participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours support. Additional hours required during most vacations and summer periods.
